Street Marketing Internship
The Street Marketing internship will provide an opportunity to learn basic marketing and public relations skills including branding, promotion, grassroots marketing, and public information. This intern will learn first-hand about industry trends, target audiences and how to reach them, and the basics of creative development and project management of marketing initiatives in the arts and entertainment industry, as well as community relations.
Responsibilities
In the two weeks following Bumbershoot, intern will assist with event wrap / notes, office clean up, return of borrowed materials, and volunteer thank yous.

Strong verbal and written communication skills is a must.
In tune with youth-oriented Puget Sound-area events.
Ability to inspire and lead a group of young volunteers and fellow interns.
Computer skills: proficient in MS Office especially Excel, and comfortable in web-based databases.
Special consideration will be given to candidates with a course of study in marketing / communications, and to individuals with interest in the arts and entertainment industries.
This internship serves interests in the marketing, PR or communications fields in the arts, music and event industries. This is a great position particularly for a marketing/comm major with a strong interest in events and dealing directly with the public.

During the summer, this will become a full-time position. In addition to coordinating all events, intern will need to set up and break down major events (those at which we have a booth), and will often need to be on-site to supervise new volunteers or supplement no-show staff. On-site and in-office hours will be balanced to not exceed 40.

End Date: Sept. 17, 2010
Hours per Week: 25/week until school is out, then full time through Bumbershoot, and part-time after the Festival. Occasionally intern's schedule will take him/her out of the office and "in the field" to major events.
